TikTok Star Peller Confirmed Safe As Lagos Police Probe Alleged Abduction

Date:

The Lagos State Police Command has clarified that TikTok influencer Habeeb Hamzat, popularly known as Peller, is safe, contrary to claims that he was kidnapped during a livestream on Wednesday.

According to the command’s spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin, who spoke on Channels Television’s The Morning Brief on Thursday, initial investigations confirmed that the content creator was at home and in good condition.

“We are investigating the allegation, but we can confirm that the person in question, Habeeb, popularly known as Peller, is at home safe and sound.

“His vehicle is also intact, all his phones and properties, nothing was missing,” Hundeyin said.

He noted that the police are still investigating the matter to determine if it was an actual kidnapping, a staged scenario, or simply a false alarm.

“That is what we are investigating. All his properties were intact, and there was no violence whatsoever,” the police spokesman added.

The 20-year-old was reportedly taken by armed men while livestreaming on TikTok as he was heading home.

In widely circulated footage, he seemed to mistake the men for security personnel before they abducted him.

The social media personality, who first gained attention in 2021 through TikTok short videos and livestreams, has now expanded his presence to broadcasting shows and events on Twitch.
